Overview
Acre is workforce management software built for Canadian farm operators. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, and how we handle personal information within the Acre platform itself for the operators who use it.
Information we collect through this website
When you fill out the contact form to request a demo, we collect your name, company name, email address, province, and whatever you write in the message field. We use that only to respond to your request. We don't collect anything else through this site right now, and we don't use cookies or run any analytics or tracking scripts here. If that changes, we'll update this page and add a cookie notice before we do.
Personal information handled within Acre
If you become a customer, you and your team will use Acre to store information about your seasonal workers: things like contact details, visa and passport numbers, SIN, work permits, housing assignments, hours worked, and in some cases medical incident records tied to workplace injuries. That information belongs to you as the employer. We host it, but we don't use it for anything beyond running the software you're paying to use. Access inside Acre is controlled by role, so not everyone on your team automatically sees everything. Medical incident details and confidential employee-relations cases are restricted to admin and manager roles.
Where data is stored
Acre runs on servers in AWS's Canada (Central) region. For a Canadian employer handling Canadian workers' information, we think that matters, so it was a deliberate choice, not a default.
How we use information
We use the information described above to operate and improve Acre, respond to demo requests, and communicate with you about your account if you're a customer. We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Who we share information with
We may share information with service providers who help us run Acre, like our hosting provider, and only to the extent they need it to do that job. We may also disclose information if we're legally required to, for example in response to a valid court order.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA and BC's Personal Information Protection Act, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask questions about how it's used. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or BC's Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner.
How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as it's needed for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires. If you ask us to delete your contact form submission and we're not required to keep it, we will.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if how we handle information changes, and update the date at the top when we do.
